STArT (Summer. Theatre. Art. Technology.) Academy...

is a comprehensive program for teens interested in creative careers in the arts and technology. Our prime aim is to expose interested students to opportunities and pathways to training and experience needed to access the future market demands for employment in television, theatre, and film. Many of these industry positions are grossly under-represented by females and people of color.

The week consists of six captivating seminars taught by college professors and industry experts and caps off with a team production assignment and an exciting studio tour/field trip. Upon successful completion of this highly engaging program, each participant is guaranteed internship placement, if desired.

The students will gain practical knowledge and insight concerning the following:

  • Meet and network with prominent film, television and theatre executives.
  • Gain insight on positioning and leveraging success in the industry.
  • Complete experiential assignments that mock real life scenarios.
  • Develop confidence and networking skills that open doors of opportunity.
  • Knowledge of career trajectory paths, salaries, training and education.
  • Hands on experience and exposure to entry level opportunities.
  • Understand how personal branding works in the industry.
